From Thursday 10 September, The Good Place Pantry will move to Stamford Hill Estate Community Centre.
Our current pantry setup was always intended to be temporary while we wait for the extension of the Boiler House Community Centre. While we await those developments, we now have the opportunity to relocate.
Returning to a shop-style pantry
We’re returning to a shop-style model, giving members more choice over the items they receive.
The pantry will be set up like a small shop — members will be able to browse and choose items that best suit their household.
This approach increases choice, reduces food waste, and helps members select food they’ll use and enjoy.
We recently estimated the average value of the weekly parcel per member, which came out at between £30–£40.
Membership fee
From 10 September, the weekly membership fee will increase to £4.00.
We understand that increases are difficult. Due to a reduction in donations, this change allows us to continue providing a good range and quality of food for our members.
Booking deposit
To reduce missed appointments, a 50% deposit (£2) is required when booking. The remaining balance is payable at the appointment.
If you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice, or do not attend, the deposit will be non-refundable. We understand that emergencies happen, and will consider exceptional circumstances on a case-by-case basis.
